480 women cykulothon at Continental Hospitals Hyderabad: To mark the upcoming International Women’s Day, which falls on Wednesday, Continental Hospitals, in collaboration with Cykul, the cycle sharing programme, organised ‘Women’s Cykulothon’ on Sunday, attracting close to 500 women fitness enthusiasts from all walks of life, a statement said. The Cykulothon involved cycling for a distance of 25 kilometres which started from Continental Hospitals and passed through ISB, Vattinagullapally road, Kollur village road and back to the hospital. On completion of the ride, the participants were given certificates and got an opportunity to click selfies with the ‘Be Bold For Change’ picture frames. Close to 50 women doctors also turned-up for the event. While it took amateurs an hour to complete the 25 km circuit, experienced cycle riders did it in a matter of 40 minutes to 50 minutes. Jayanti was the first to complete the 25 km route in 48 minutes, while Shipra came a close second. “It is encouraging to see women in such large numbers turn up to celebrate International Women’s Day,” said S Sunita, SI, SheTeam Incharge, Gachibowli.
